Dean Putegnat and Staff,
I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you Dean, and your staff, for a wonderful stay at Rancho Caracol from December 17 - 21, 2008. Myself and the others in the "BD" Hunting Club (no explanation needed) enjoyed some of the best Mourning Dove hunting ever and were wowed by the attention and service of you and your staff.
After coming home and sharing the experience with my wife, she has already stated that my son and I will have to come back and bring the Grandson so he can also share in the memories that were made with my son and me on this hunt. The Mourning Dove hunt would be a very memorable birthday present for him with his birthday being on December 31st. This would be a great hunt for him next year.
Thank you again for your patience, understanding and giving a wonderful time to the "BD's".
Sincerely,
Alan Tomlinson

Dear Dean,
On behalf of the five of us that hunted at Rancho Caracol last week, I want to say “thanks”. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The hunting, food and accommodations were first class in every respect. I believe our expectations for the hunt were exceeded, due to the skill and professionalism of all of your staff.
Thank you again for an enjoyable hunt.
Sincerely, John Kovarik Purcellville, Virginia
Dear Barry & Dean,
As a lifelong wing shooter and an Executive Committee member of the Cross Timbers Chapter of Quail Unlimited, I’m writing to tell you how very impressed I was with both the hunting at your ranch and the superb accommodations that you provided to me and my hunting party.
As you may recall, I visited Rancho Caracol twice in the 2001-2002 season; the first time for a White wing hunt in September of 2001, then again in January of 2002 for a combo hunt. I can honestly tell you that in my 20 years of wing shooting I have never experienced more action packed, satisfying outdoor experiences than I did at your ranch. The bird populations were just incredible, the guides and staff were very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs, and the lodge itself was a friendly and comfortable as any I have ever stayed in (including some at more than twice the price). Needless to say, I am already booked for another quail hunt this coming January, and can hardly wait.
Please feel free to use me as a personal reference for any hunter contemplating a trip to your facility, and thanks again for a truly spectacular experience. You gentleman are real pros, and it shows by the way the ranch is run.
Sincerely, Todd Lucas Vice President TAAPCO Commercial Printing
Dear Barry & Dean,
Thank you for a memorable adventure in Mexico. I was thoroughly impressed with the quail hunting and the capabilities of the guides. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.
The accommodations were excellent and the meals were rib-sticking. I especially appreciated the classy margarita touch at the end of the day and the on-the-spot guacamole in the field!
Your hospitality was exemplary. I look forward to a return trip in the not-too-distant future.
With best regards, Michael S. Altman, M.D. Phoenix, Arizona
Dear Dean,
Nancy and I want to thank you again for such a good time at your hunting ranch in Mexico. We truly had a wonderful time. You have a great operation, and we would like to help in any way we can to promote your business.
Please find enclosed four bottles of pure Vermont maple syrup. Please keep some for you and Amy to use personally but also use it at the ranch on your morning pancakes and in your duck recipe. I don’t think you can improve on that recipe; but it was so good, it deserves something better than Log Cabin.
Again, please extend our thanks to your whole family and staff.
Sincerely yours, David Perkins Executive Vice President The Orvis Company, Inc.

Dear Dean:
Thank you very much for a wonderful hunt. I am thoroughly impressed with your facilities and operations and you ability to pull off an excellent white wing hunt in a downpour. The Lord smiles upon you Dean, keep up the good work.

Dear Dean,
I do not usually write a thank-you note to someone to whom I have just paid a good bit money, but you may take this as such. This was my boys' first whitewing hunt in Mexico, and they are spoiled forever.
Your staff was as courteous and well-trained as I have ever seen. I cannot say enough about Raul. He was always helpful and enthusiatic. Everything was in order and ready to go. You have a great operation.
Please give these photos and earplugs to Raul to give to Eduardo and Arien (sp.) They said they would wear them, but they probably will not; their buddies would laugh at them! They will be deaf by the time they are 25 if they do not.
Thanks again for a great Mexico outing.
Very truly yours,
Jerry Secrest

Dear Dean,
I want to compliment you and your staff for a wonderful experience at Rancho Caracol. From our arrival where we were met by your friendly staff, to superb accommodations and wonderful meals, I don't know how you can improve.
The hunting experience from the variety of locations to your well trained field dogs, it was delightful. The quail and dove hunting was exceptional. You provided a wonderful experience as evident by our return.
Sincerely,

Dear Dean,
I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know what a special time Gunner and I had while shooting with you this weekend. I do not often have the opportunity to spend the amount of time Gunner and I spent together at Caracol, so it was a real treat to have my son with me. Everything from the meals to the shooting was wonderful. I have been in camps where the mix of clients had loud or offensive people in the group. This was not one of them, but I could see that they way you are set up allows for ample seperation whether dinning outside, upstairs, or in the main dinning area. I just love your new dormitory! It reminds me of the beautiful old buildings in Brownsville and is a terrific addition to your complex. The shooting was superb and the birds we took home were packaged and cleaned beautifully.
I have enclosed a photo of our bird boy and his son. I would hope that you could get this photo to him. He was very proud of his son and we had a great time together. They were hard working and a joy to be with.
My best to you and your family and we look forward to shooting with you in February.
Sincerely,
Stormy Stone

Dear Sir,
I recently returned from a shoot from your endorsed "Rancho Caracol" in Mexico. It was an excellent shoot, could not have been more enjoyable.
Do you have a listing of other hunting/fishing Orvis endorsed locations?
Thank you in advance
Sincerely,
Edwin W. Estes
To Whom It May Concern:
My husband, Bill, and I have just returned from a white wing dove shoot at "Rancho Caracol" in Tamaulipas, and want to express our accolades. Barry, Georgia, and Dean Putegnat are offering a first class hunting operation. They are professional, and at the same time, warm and friendly people. The lodge is beautiful and tastefully decorated, in a special setting with a spectacule view. There was an inviting lounge with an Open Bar stocked with the finest liquors, and the food served in a lovely dining room, was outstanding! The staff is trained to excellence, and no detail of thoughtfulness was overlooked-including a cold, wet towel to wipe down for the return to the lodge after a shoot, with a drink of our preference served the moment we stepped from the van. Last, but not least, the hospitality of the Putegnat's was -nonpareil!!
We are avid hunters, and having hunted worldwide, consider "Rancho Caracol" our best, overall experience. I would joyfully recomment "Rancho Caracol" to any discerning hunter.
Sincerely yours,
Ashley Atkinson

Dean,
Thank you for an absolutely incredible time at Rancho Caracol. The hunting, food, accommodations, all-around, were just extraordinary. You probably don't know this, but I have appointed myself as your national spokesperson. I have talked to so many already, about your outfit. Again, many thanks, wishing you and your family a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year.
Warmest Regards,
